The Environmental Education Center is an academic facility with programs designed to instruct students and teachers at all grade levels in science in an outdoor setting. The daily instructional programs presented are aligned with and support the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), local science curriculum implementation and the objectives of the STAAR tests. The Center assists district science teachers in meeting the Texas Education Agency requirement that students be involved in both laboratory and field investigations during science instruction. The Center is always free to all DISD teachers, students and staff.
